The grade warranty is one sentence. The rest of this page exists so that neither of us has to guess later.

1. Grade warranty
If a container arrives below the grade we sold, we replace it or refund it.
No inspection report is required from you, there is no restocking fee, and we do not require the container to be returned before the replacement ships. Tell us within 14 days of delivery with a photograph and we will settle it.
2. What a grade is and is not
Grades describe condition and documented history against our published 18-point standard. A grade is not a warranty of fitness for your specific product, process or regulatory context. You are responsible for confirming chemical compatibility, temperature suitability and any applicable regulatory requirement for your intended use.
3. UN markings and regulated transport
Where a container carries a UN marking we will state its code and condition honestly. We do not re-certify containers, we do not re-mark containers whose original code is illegible, and any modification — cutting, drilling, porting — voids the UN rating permanently. Responsibility for compliant use of a marked container rests with the filler and shipper.
4. Last-contents declarations
When you sell or send us containers you warrant that the declaration you provide is accurate and complete. Undeclared residue is the one thing that can genuinely endanger our crew, and we reserve the right to refuse, quarantine or charge for handling of any load whose contents do not match its declaration.
5. Pricing, quotes and payment
- Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
- Prices quoted from photographs hold on arrival, provided the containers match the photographs.
- New accounts pay on pickup or delivery; established accounts may be offered net-15 or net-30.
- Freight is included only where a quote says it is included.
6. Pickup and removal
Free pickup applies to qualifying loads as described on the service area page. You are responsible for safe access, a staging area, and ensuring containers are drained to the extent agreed. If a site cannot be worked as described when the truck arrives, we may reschedule and charge a dry-run fee.
7. Fabrication and modified containers
Fabricated and upcycled units are sold for the purpose described in their build sheet. They are not pressure vessels, they are not certified for potable drinking water distribution, and fuel-related builds are supplied on the explicit basis that you have confirmed local code and permit requirements.
8. Limitation of liability
Our liability in connection with any sale is limited to the price paid for the containers or services concerned. We are not liable for loss of product, loss of profit, or consequential loss arising from the use of a container. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Illinois law.
9. Site terms
- The content on this site — including the grading standard, size tables, impact figures and the Loop Lab logic — is ours. You are welcome to cite it with attribution; please do not republish it wholesale.
- Specifications, dimensions and compatibility guidance are provided in good faith for general reference. Verify against your own SDS, equipment and regulations before relying on them.
- Our calculators and decoders are educational tools. They are not certifications, and they do not constitute regulatory or engineering advice.
- Pricing shown on the site is indicative. A written quote is the binding figure.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and the courts of Peoria County have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
11. Contact
IBC Totes Pickup, 1702 W Chanute Rd, Peoria, IL 61615. Email info@ibctotespickup.com. All contractual notices should be sent by email — we keep no telephone line, so writing is the only channel and it is also the record.
Eleven clauses in one table
The full text above governs. This table is here because most people want to know where they stand in thirty seconds, not in nine hundred words.
| Clause | In one sentence | Who carries the risk |
|---|---|---|
| Grade warranty | Below grade on arrival is replaced or refunded within 14 days | Us |
| Fitness for purpose | A grade describes condition, not suitability for your product | You |
| UN markings | We state the code honestly; compliant use is the filler's responsibility | You, once filled |
| Declarations | You warrant the last-contents declaration is accurate | You |
| Pricing and quotes | Quotes hold 14 days; photo-based prices hold if the containers match | Us |
| Pickup and removal | You provide safe access as described; a dry run may be charged | Shared |
| Fabricated units | Not pressure vessels, not potable systems; fuel builds need your code check | Shared |
| Liability | Limited to the price paid for the containers or services concerned | Capped |
| Site content | Specifications are reference; verify against your own SDS and rules | You |
| Tools | Calculators and decoders are educational, not certifications | You |
| Governing law | Illinois, Peoria County | — |
- The grade warranty needs no inspection report from you and carries no restocking fee, and we do not require the container back before a replacement ships.
- Freight is included only where a quote says it is included. Free pickup applies to qualifying loads as described on the service area page.
- We never sign as generator for regulated residue, and we will tell you plainly when a load needs a licensed hauler rather than us.
- Cutting or drilling a container voids its UN rating permanently. We say so even when a customer would rather we did not.
What actually happens when something goes wrong
Tell us, with a photograph
Within 14 days of delivery. The load number and one clear photo is enough to start — no forms, no portal.
We check it against our own record
Every container is photographed at intake and every outbound load is photographed strapped. Most questions are settled from those images in under an hour.
We replace, credit or explain
If we were wrong, it is replaced or refunded. If we were not, you get the images and the grading record so you can see the reasoning rather than just the answer.
Escalation, such as it is
The yard manager looks at it. There is no sales department and nobody is paid on volume, so that is the whole path — and in 2024 the customer turned out to be right in 41% of disputes.
Do you have a returns policy?
Not as such. We buy containers back at the current band for their condition, which on unused units is usually what you paid less freight. That is a purchase rather than a return and it is the normal way this works.
What if a container fails in service?
Tell us what happened. If it failed because of something we did — a bad rebuild, a missed check — we replace it. If it failed because of chemistry, temperature or handling, we will usually still help you work out why, because that is cheaper for both of us than the alternative.
Can I use your grading standard in my own contract?
Yes, and three municipal customers already cite it in specifications. It is written to be citable.
Do you sign customer terms and vendor agreements?
Routinely. Send them with the order. We will flag anything about UN markings, generator status or fitness for purpose that we cannot accept, rather than signing and hoping.
Are prices on this site binding?
No. Bands are indicative and move with the resin market and the season. A written quote is the figure that holds, for 14 days.
